Fr. Maurice Cooke
Years ago, after almost 20 years of Marriage, my husband had family problem that was causing tension between us. We decided to see Fr. Maurice who married us in 1964. After listening to us and what we were experiencing, he calmly told my husband to “take a sharp knife and sever ties with your Mother”. You took marriage vows to cleave from your Mother and Father and become one with you wife. His words made us realize how serious those vows were. We celebrated 60 years of marriage in April. RIP Father Maurice.

Fr. Lucio
I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Father Lucio of Our Lady Star of the Sea in North Myrtle beach, South Carolina. On a moment’s notice, with my older sister hospitalized with stage 4 lung cancer after a 2 1/2-year battle, he dropped what he was doing at a moment’s notice and went to the ICU to hear her confession and provide a blessing. It calmed her and our family immensely. Thank you once again, Father Lucio….We are honored to give you a ‘Nod.

All Priests
I’d like to thank so many priests, and some who’ve gone before, who’ve kept faith through their troubled times, and helped us all the more. When churches often need repair, within their walls a priest is there. Celebrating with us the Eucharist, in Christ’s place at the table, giving inspiring sermons and helping us when able. Open to much criticism, sometimes when they aren’t there, apologies, they’re human too, for them I’ll say a prayer. Not knowing that they’ve touched our lives, in Oh so many ways, we need them there to serve in prayer, so give them Too due praise. Where would we be in life today without Holy Men and Women so that our faith, hope, love don’t drown when in this life we’re swimming?. Father, mother, sister, brother let’s all pray for one another!!
Fr. James Flahive
I appreciate and say thank you to Fr. James Flahive. He was an example of love and compassion when my mother suddenly died from a coronary thrombosis at the age of 54. I was 11 and the only living child at the time. His gentleness while praying the words of Extreme Unction touched me. He was one of the reasons I was ordained a priest. May he rest in peace.
